on trainer perksOn Mount Coronet, players are able to outfit their characters with a number of Perks. Think of these as being akin to Trainer classes from the source material proper, but far more fluid. For example, nothing is stopping you from acquiring the skills of both a nurse and a fire-breather.
As a note, though, there are a few conditions to acquiring a Trainer Perk. First, you must have the proper amount of EXP in order to acquire it. Secondly, you must meet any prerequisites for acquiring it, such as possessing another perk.
You may have, at a base level, 6 Trainer Perks at any given time. Please note, in the case of Perks such as the Psychic line, the higher version of that perk replaces the previous version for the sake of counting one’s limits.

>>Perk Name: Type Prodigy
>>Cost: 1000 EXP
>>Prerequisites: None
>>Description: When acquiring this perk, the user designates a type. When using Pokemon of that Type, you may, one per battle, increase the damage tier of a move matching the type of that Pokemon by a single tier. >>Prerequisites: Type Prodigy
>>Description: When using a Pokemon of the type designated during your acquisition of Type Prodigy, you may treat an otherwise super effective attack targeting that Pokemon as being neutral in damage. However, this only applies to the type you have designated. For example, a Butterfree has a double weakness to Rock-type attacks, so a Bug-type Ace would only be able to reduce the damage influenced by the Bug-typing, thus making it a single weakness for that turn. In addition to this, the acquisition of this perk also influences Type Prodigy. You may use the abilities granted to you by either perk twice in a thread, with each perk sharing this pool. For example, you may use the ability from Type Prodigy once and the ability from Type Ace one, or either twice.
