THE RULES

THE GOLDEN RULE- This site is founded on respect and treating others well. Mount Coronet has a strict no-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, bigotry of any sort, and other similarly unacceptable behaviors. Failure to show respect for others will result in your removal from the site.

Mount Coronet IS RATED PG-13- While there is significantly more leeway on language and violent content, sexually explicit content is forbidden and may not be hosted on-site, both publicly and in PMs. In regards to violence and language: be tasteful. Staff may- and will- ask individuals to tone down their content if staff feels it is getting out of hand. The site adheres to a 2-2-2 rating. As such, failure to comply will result in your content being removed.

PLAGIARISM IS PROHIBITED- Any sort of plagiarism- be it stealing posts, templates, and other content without proper credit- is forbidden. However, this does not mean you cannot recycle your own OCs or apps, though be prepared to alter them heavily for this site. You may not use posts from previous sites on Mount Coronet..

THIS SITE IS SEMI-LITERATE- That means to say that this site expects decently formatted posts written with clarity. All posts are to be in English, third person, and in past or present tense. While we have no hard word count, we do have a soft one clocking in at 100 words. One-liners are forbidden.

REGARDING CHARACTER LIMITS- Currently, on Mount Coronet, there is no character limit. In short, an individual may have as many characters as they want-- within reason. Staff may put a ban on character creation for individuals until they either permanently archive a character or prove their activity on their current characters.

THERE ARE TO BE NO REAL LIFE FACECLAIMS OR CANON FACECLAIMS- There are to be no canon faceclaims. Please try to use quality faceclaims. Low resolution or low effort faceclaims will be denied.

ONE CHARACTER PER ACCOUNT- While we allow members to have multiple characters, each character needs its own account. Likewise, accounts must be named after the character.

NO GODMODDING, POWER GAMING, OR METAGAMING OF ANY SORT IS ALLOWED- In short, characters are not invincible, players may not force actions and presume they are unstoppable, and generally, players are expected to stay in-character during roleplay- for example, not knowing the names of a character they had never met before or changing the course of your own character’s action to intersect or interfere with another character's due to gross misuse of OOC knowledge. In these cases, staff reserves the right to intervene. This does not mean OOC plotting is forbidden; rather, the rule is here to prevent people from using OOC knowledge to obstruct others and ruin the overall experience of the site.box.

CANON CHARACTERS CANNOT BE PLAYED- Canon characters may not be played by or NPC’d by members. Canon Non-Player Characters will be, in the case of their possible inclusion, written exclusively by staff. Players may not use canon characters in their histories or writing. Players may not play AU versions of a canon character. Players may mention canon characters in passing if they are sufficiently famous or renowned and they may reference any canon events that are referenced on the site timeline, keeping to the information provided.

THIS SITE OPERATES ON LIQUID TIME- There is no strict measurement of time on site, save for the general passage of time in the greater sense. Players are charged with maintaining their own timeline.

STAFF RULINGS ARE TO BE RESPECTED - Staff reserves the right to rule as needed for the good of the site. This includes the interpretation of rules, the ending of conversations, the denial of applications, and the monitoring of posts. Once a ruling comes down, it is to be respected. If a member takes an issue with a ruling, they may broach the issue in private. In regards to application denials, members are actively encouraged to work with staff members in getting their applications to an acceptable state.

STATE YOUR CURRENT PARTY-- ALONG WITH ALL PERTINENT INFO-- SUCH AS MOVES, ABILITIES, AND LEVELS-- UPON ENTERING A THREAD- Likewise, do not attempt to use Pokemon, items, or Trainer Perks that were gained after the commencement of a thread in said thread.

CHARACTERS WHO ARE ARCHIVED OR DELETED BY THEIR OWNER CANNOT BE RECOVERED- Staff will not recover any accounts for people who purposely archive or delete their own characters, even if there is extensive evidence of their previous records. We will allow members to remake a deleted character should they return to the site, but they will be expected to start from scratch and they will likely be unable to regain any canon positions they held.

THESE RULES EXTEND TO ALL MODES OF SITE COMMUNICATION - This includes forum posts, PMs, and any site-endorsed chat boxes, Discord servers, or other chat services.
