pokemon encounter rulesCentral to Pokemon is the ability to encounter and capture Pokemon in order to add them to one’s team; Mount Coronet is no different. Players are able to encounter Pokemon and add them to their team once per week, not counting any additional encounters you might purchase.
The process for this is very simple. You will create a thread, be it a solo thread or a group thread, and, after the title, you will include the tag “[ENCOUNTER]”. After the thread has been posted and all members, if applicable, have joined the thread, you may post a link to the thread in Staff Summons, wherein staff will generate an encounter for you. You will be given a choice of three Pokemon and you are allowed to select one as an encounter.
Now, a few things to note:
You are allotted one free encounter every week, which refreshes at 00:01 EST on Monday.
Staff will only generate the Pokemon in question. Narratively, it is on you to determine how your character encounters this Pokemon and how they go about catching them.
If you do not like your three options, you are allowed one mulligan in which staff will generate three more Pokemon for you. Please note, selecting to reroll means that the previously rolled set of Pokemon are made unavailable to you. After this, if you still do not like any of the Pokemon generated, you may elect to capture none of the Pokemon spawned and instead choose to receive a bonus to your EXP and Poke gains for that thread.
Encounters generated can only fall within the current power of your team. For example, if your strongest Pokemon is a Level 15, Great-tier Beedrill, Pokemon you encounter can only be as strong as this Beedrill at maximum.
When you catch a Pokemon, the player who receives the Pokemon may select all its moves from its most modern, available learnset up to its current level. Typically, this will mean Gen 8 learnsets, but Pokemon not featured in Gen 8 may use Gen 7 learnsets.
Encounters are assigned to individual characters, not players. For example, if you encounter a Luxio on your character John, you may not transfer the encounter to your alternate character Lucy. Similarly, in a group encounter thread, you may not transfer encounters to another player’s character.
If you use a PokeTreat to create an encounter, please note it so that we might accurately track your character’s possessions. Similarly, please do not attempt to trick staff into allowing you more encounters per week. Any member who is found to be dishonest about their encounters in any way will be punished.
