>>APPEARANCE: Dione is an attractive young woman with very long, dark lilac hair. She often chooses to style her hair into low pigtails. Dione is a little tall for a lady of her age, and she often uses it to her advantage to appear more confident or imposing. She has a set of mysterious sea-green colored eyes that seem to hide secrets behind them. When she uses her psychic powers, they sometimes glow a light lavender color.
As a person obsessed with outer beauty, Dione always presents herself as a tidy and well-adjusted young woman. She invests a considerable amount of time in skincare, so her skin is often blemish-free. She has a girly sense of style, and will usually be seen wearing dresses or formal maiden attire. However, as she’s begun to venture outside her hometown, she settles for more urban clothing like sweaters and jeans. She will never pass up the chance to wear a cute skirt, however.

Having come from a very traditionalist family, Dione was a bit sheltered from the rest of the world so she isn’t extremely familiar with common trends or new technology. Dione is a very spiritual person, so she reveres certain Pokemon. Were any person to speak ill about a mythical Pokemon, she would be the first person to reprimand them.
Some may say Dione has peculiar interests. She is very intrigued by the likes of Ghost, Psychic, and Dark type Pokemon. She often goes out on “night hunts” to get a chance of encountering one of them. She seems to find these often eerie Pokemon endearing, and she has an easy time befriending them.
Dione is a very crafty and stubborn girl and will stop at nothing to achieve her goal of learning more about supernatural Pokemon. She is a self-preservationist and is willing to lie, cheat, and steal her way into survival. She often scams naive trainers out of their money when she can. She performs fake “psychic readings” for a price, as well. She does her best to not make these ill behaviors known to many people, so she carries herself about with an air of mystery.
Despite this, Dione can be very loyal towards those she befriends. She is charismatic and flirty, and uses this to her advantage.
Overall, Dione is an adaptable, crafty, yet free-spirited soul who seeks to unravel the secrets of mythical Pokemon.
>>HISTORY: Dione was born into a bloodline of innate psychics who believed their powers were bestowed upon them by mystic Pokemon. Her family had resided in Celestic Town for many generations and have consistently held onto their old traditions and rituals. In times of antiquity, Dione’s ancestors revered and worshiped a variety of mythical Pokemon spoken about in folklore. They were involved in the upkeep and protection of various shrines dotted around Celestic Town dedicated to these Pokemon. Her family acquired an amount of prestige within the town for being very devoted to mythical pokemon, namely the research and reverence of them.
So it was no surprise that Dione found herself carrying on the family tradition. She was to become a trained shrine maiden that would help preserve and carry out the appropriate rituals to keep the mythical Pokemon pleased.
Dione took great honor and pride in the duty, and dedicated her days to the upkeep of the shrines in Celestic Town. When she wasn’t busy leaving offerings or guarding the shrines from intruders, she often consulted the elders of the region to gather more knowledge about the Pokemon she revered.
Dione grew interested in folklore stories of Pokemon with supernatural powers and as she grew older, she wished to interact more with these strange Pokemon.
A feeling of desire began to build up in Dione with every passing year. As a shrine maiden, she was not permitted to leave the town without the permission of the older shrine keepers. So, in an already sparsely populated hamlet, Dione felt extremely isolated from the outside world. While she did care about her duties, she still wished to learn more about Sinnoh and the strange history of the Pokemon that lived in the region. She wouldn’t be able to do that while cooped up in Celestic Town.
It didn’t take long for her to become disgruntled with her situation. Every request to venture away from the town was denied by her superiors, so Dione began to misbehave in protest. She became a troublemaker around the town, often stealing from people or traveling trainers. She sometimes snuck out of the town at night to see if she could encounter any strange apparition-like Pokemon.
One fateful night, she wandered into the wild. But instead of running into something she would have liked, she encountered an aggressive swarm of Zubat. There was no way for her to escape, and at that moment, she was almost certain that she’d die there. But luckily for Dione, another wild Pokemon stepped in to help her. It was a wild Misdreavus that fought off the swarm for her, however it did not walk away uninjured.
Dione thanked the benevolent Pokemon for its help, and offered it berries as a show of thanks. The Misdreavus seemed surprised by Dione’s friendliness towards it, as it had only ever come across humans that feared its presence. It took a liking to Dione, and the two formed a close bond.
Every night afterwards, the Misdreavus (which Dione nicknamed “Melinoe”) would visit Dione and play around with her. Dione’s love for mysterious Pokemon grew as did her desire to venture out further into Sinnoh.
And everything changed when a strange man approached her on a stormy night. He claimed to be part of the Nova Galactic Team and explained the organization’s desire to create a new world. He claimed that they needed help from people who could read auras, which was why he thought Dione would be a good fit. Of course, the young woman was extremely wary at first. She’d vaguely heard of the former Galactic Team and how they’d nearly brought ruin to Sinnoh.
However, the man was convincing to Dione. He explained why the creation of a new world would be beneficial to her. He offered to help her get out of the boring town she was confined to, and made promises of her being able to help research -- and perhaps, even capture -- the mystical Pokemon she admired.
Although she had her worries, out of desperation to leave Celestic Town, Dione accepted the offer, and officially became a new Nova Galactic recruit. She donned their insignia on a necklace, and ran away from home in the hopes of making a new, more meaningful life under Nova Galactic. With Melinoe at her side, Dione was determined to unearth the secrets of the ancient, supernatural Pokemon she so revered.
